Welcome to Summer!

Last week's party was a blast!  We had a lot of fun cooling off with the water balloons (there is an art to get them to burst it seems), the splash pad, blowing bubbles, trying out the new plastic axe throwing game and wishing AJ a happy birthday.  I will post pictures soon...
If you have any to share, please email them to me.  😊

This Sunday we kick-off our Summer program.  Every Sunday we will still start in the Service for the Time for All Ages and then move to the West Wing for the activity of the day.  Each Sunday will have a theme and either an art, science, or movement activity.  I am in the process of putting them all together so that I can post them on our website.

There are several Sundays that I will not be available to be in the classroom including June 11 (vacation), June 25 (General Assembly), July 2nd (in the pulpit), July 9th (vacation) and July 16th (in the pulpit).  If you are available to fill in for me any of those Sundays, I would GREATLY appreciate it if you could email to let me know.  I will need to do a background check.   All the lesson plans and materials will be ready for you in advance so there is nothing for you to do except read the materials and be ready to have fun.  And the lesson plans are a suggestion... if the children are interested in something else, you have permission to wing it!  😉

Our Next Odyssey Night will be at the BEACH on Sunday, June 4th starting at 4pm.  See the details below.   🏖️🩴🏊

The Creativity of Music
After the Time for All Ages in the Service, the Children and Youth will explore how music impacts us and how we see the world.  We will be playing different kinds of music and then for those inclined, make our own music.

The Delight of Differences!
After the Time for All Ages in the Service, the Children and Youth will learn about our UU tradition of a Flower communion and how it is a time to celebrate our differences.  We will have a special art project to make suncatchers for our windows so that all our different colors can shine through.
