Dear Members and Friends,
Our 2021-2022 Stewardship campaign is in full swing. Although we can’t bring our pledge cards to church as we’ve done in the past, we encourage you to mail it in by Pledge Sunday, February 28th. If your pledge is received by March 16th you will be entered into a drawing for a family membership to Selby Gardens!
The wrap up to the campaign is Sunday, March 28, when we will vote on the new budget during the March 28th congregational meeting.
The theme this year is TOGETHER WE CAN! Together we’ve kept the church operating at full strength in a tough year and together, we can continue in the coming year. We've all missed being in church, feeling the glow of shared community, seeing friends and deepening our shared vision of a religion based on compassion and reason. Looking forward, the vaccines hold promise of a brighter future and a return to our regular gatherings in the near future.
Our three ministers and the staff have done a great job in sustaining the church during the pandemic closure. Many volunteers pitched in to keep us connected through Zoom gatherings of all sorts. The pandemic did cause a shortfall in our church income: reduced rental income, cancellation of the auction and limited Sunday basket donations. If you can, an increase in your pledge will offset the shortfall and allow us to move forward without major budget cuts. TOGETHER WE CAN!
It is time to pledge with your heart to maintain the strength and vitality of our church. Please send your pledge card to the church office or email your pledge information to Roberta at directoruucs@gmail.com. Remember, if your pledge is received by March 16th you will be entered into a drawing for a family membership to Selby Gardens!
Stay safe and remember TOGETHER WE CAN!
Sincerely,
Bet and Bill Cummings
