Welcome to our Congregation!
Our members come from and are influenced by many different religious traditions. We come together to share our passion for learning, a set of common values and a desire to explore and define what we believe in now--without losing what makes us unique. We don't tell you what to believe, how to think, how to behave or what your personal truths should be. We do support your spiritual search. Whatever your background, you are welcome here, as we, together, search for truth and meaning in our lives.
We are Welcoming
We are a Welcoming Congregation, celebrating and affirming the active presence here of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and heterosexual members and friends, and their families. The church supports the presence of a chapter of Interweave Continental, a membership organization actively working toward ending oppression based on sexual orientation and gender identity. More information here.
We are Together
Every Sunday, the Church holds and/or publishes our Sunday worship services lead by our ministers through-out the year and lay leaders or guest speakers during the Summer months. Expect to be moved, challenged, stimulated, and valued. Our worship services are in many ways traditional: we sing hymns, enjoy the choir's anthem, read from scripture and classic texts, pause for meditation and silence, and hear a sermon. And our services are in many ways untraditional: we read from cutting edge authors and hear messages that may draw upon ancient wisdom or today's headlines. Often, short video clips are included. Upcoming and past services can be found here. Zoom meetings for other connections can be found here. Learn more about our Ministers here.
We are Educators
Our religious education program helps our children develop their own common sense and logic in evaluating religious claims. We provide a safe place to help children learn and talk about the big issues such as God, Death, and Sexuality. While our campus is closed, religious education is holding weekly Zoom gatherings. You can find more information on those gatherings here. More information on our children's programs here.
Our adult programs offer a place for members to learn and grow spiritually, in knowledge, and socially. Our Sunday Forums now being held live via Zoom attracts 60+ attendees for lively discussion on a variety of social justice, spiritual and societal topics. Information on the Forum can be found here. Other adult programs can be found here.
We are Engaged
Our church and its members are engaged in many aspects of social justice in our community and our world. We have established a church Social Justice Advocacy group as well as a group on Racial Justice. Find out more here.
We are Green
We are a Green Congregation, promoting respect for the interdependent web of all existence. We have a active Green Team that advocates and educates to promote environmental justice and a sustainable way of life. See more information here.
We are Growing
Unlike most churches in the US, our congregation continues to grow every year. Today, we have over 500 members and are the largest UU church in Florida.
