Weekly Zoom Connections
Join us on Zoom for any or all of these casual gatherings. In addition to seeing one another and nurturing our sense of connection, please think about these two questions: What has been your biggest challenge with sheltering in place? Have there been any unexpected gifts this situation has given you?
Wednesdays, 11:30 - 12:30 COFFEE, TEA OR LUNCH
Fridays, 5:00-6:00 HAPPY HOUR
If you are on our email list, you will receive an email invitation the day before to remind you. Contact Rhoda Taylor at rhodataylor36@gmail.com, phone 724-255-3037 if you have questions. In order to receive the zoom link, just sign up on our virual guest book. All are welcome.
These gatherings will continue as long as folks want to connect with each other in this way. Join us on your computer, tablet or smart phone whenever you want.
New to Zoom? Just click on the link in your invitation. If you get stuck, see below for help.

We want to help you connect with Zoom
from Dale Anderson, church President:
Welcome to a World of Zoom!
Around the world, businesses, social groups and families are turning to online teleconferencing to maintain business operations and combat social isolation. Everyone is talking about Zoom. NBA athletes are working out at home under supervision of their trainers via Zoom. In Seattle, nurse practitioners are providing well-care visits for children using the online service.
Zoom’s online video conferencing system lets people speak and visualize each other using desktop computers, laptops, tablets (iPads) and mobile phones. Similar videoconferencing systems include Cisco’s Webex, GoToMeetings, and Microsoft Teams. Here at UUCS, we have chosen Zoom to help keep us connected.
The Church used Zoom to conduct its recent Board of Trustees meeting. All future church business meetings will be scheduled on Zoom. Groups considering Zoom include the Men’s Group, Books Club, and Caring Committee. Our Lead Associate Minister, Beth Miller, is hosting general “get-togethers” for all church members and friends on Zoom (see article in our weekly Contact newsletter. Call the office if you want to be put on the mailing list.)
To encourage the use of teleconferencing, UUCS will reimburse any church member designated to host their group the $14.99 per month fee for setting up a Zoom Pro Plan account. The Pro Plan allows online meetings that extend beyond the 40-minute limit of the Free Plan.
If you are interested in becoming a UUCS Zoom host for your committee or group, please sign up by sending an email request to Roberta Druif. Consultants to help you get started with Zoom include Rev Beth Miller, Karen Bush and me. Zoom is easy to use.
Members are reporting that zoom is easy and fun to use. If your computer does not have a camera, you can still join a zoom group using your microphone and speakers (no picture). If you have a smart phone, you already have a camera, microphone and speakers.
So, let’s all get online and ZOOM ON! Read more at zoom.us New Tools for Zoom Hosts...
